Arnie Herz is an attorney, mediator and public speaker. A graduate of the University of Michigan (A.B. 1984) and Fordham Law School (J.D. 1991), Arnie’s career began as a litigator with nationally prominent Weil Gotshal & Manges LLP. Since 2000, Arnie has operated his own firm with offices on Wall Street and Long Island handling a wide variety of business, intellectual property, transactional and litigation matters across a broad range of industries. Arnie focuses on delivering innovative legal solutions through a unique client centered approach.

Arnie’s transformational approach to law is featured in the June 2001 issue of the ABA Journal. He is also featured in the August 8, 2003 edition of the New York Law Journal article “Some Attorneys See Meditation as Relief From Stress of Law Practice: Adversarial Attitudes May Not Produce the Best Results.” In 2002, Arnie received a “Lawyers as Peacemaker” award from the Renaissance Law Society and the highest rating “AV” from Martindale Hubble. In 2003, he was accepted into the highly selective International Society for Primerus Law Firms, and accepted for listing in: The Stanley Matthews International Law Directory; Marquis Who’s Who of American Lawyers; and National Register’s Who’s Who of Executives and Professionals.

He presented at the Lawyering and Its Discontents 2003 two day CLE program for lawyers at The Touro Law Center, offered a 2 hour CLE at CUNY School of Law entitled Beyond Burnout: Creating the Law Practice You Always Wanted, guest lectured at Fordham, Cardozo, St. John’s Law Schools, and judged in the Cardozo Law School Mediation Moot Court Competition. In June 2000, Arnie was a panel speaker at a major International Licensing conference and has been quoted in various news publications. He has also appeared as a guest on National Public Radio and offered his perspective on federal legislation through a widely aired televised public service announcement. In December 2001, Arnie conducted a half-day workshop for legal consumers at Wainwright House entitled Legal Sanity: Six Steps to Getting What You Really Want In Your Legal Dealings, where participants used his process to obtain dramatic shifts in their goals, coping styles and strategies.

Arnie is a member of the: International Society of Primerus Law Firms; American Bar Association; New York State Bar Association; Association of the Bar of the City of New York; Federal Bar Association (co-chair of the mediation section of the Empire State Chapter); Association for Conflict Resolution; Renaissance Law Society. Arnie is also an active panel member of the Court Appointed Mediators for both the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York and the Commercial Division of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, New York County.

Arnie lives in Port Washington, New York with his wife and 3 children.
