The case of 3 local football players - Ryan Grech, Gilbert Martin and Claude Mattocks - who tested positive for banned substances will be heard in front of the Court of Arbitration for Sport on November 24.
FIFA and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), who filed the case against the Maltese players and the Malta Football Association, are seeking a 2-year suspension for the players.
The Malta Football Association had already banned the players after they were tested positive for banned drugs whilst playing in the local leagues. Ryan Grech and Gilbert Martin were banned for 9 months whilst Claude Mattocks was given a 4-month suspension.
